Do you want to help develop our environmentally and nature-inspired preschool?

The parent cooperative preschool Vildingen in Kortedala is currently looking for a licensed preschool teacher who wants to work at a small preschool where you can make an impact.

Close to nature in northern Kortedala, you will find our preschool, which has been here since the 1990s. Currently, we have 18 children in our care, and our preschool is located in spacious premises with its own outdoor area and close to an exciting forest area. We are a non-profit economic association that is religiously and politically independent.

About the position

The staff group currently consists of a principal, preschool teachers, two childcare workers, and a kitchen manager/childcare worker. Together, you will shape the activities and provide the children with all the opportunities to develop, have fun, and learn new things. The working hours are varied and follow a four-week schedule. Currently, we operate between 06:30 - 17:00, but these hours may change if the needs of the operations change.

Some advantages of working at a parent cooperative are that you will meet engaged guardians who handle practical tasks (cleaning, working in the children's group, the board, etc.). Decision-making paths are also shorter. You work largely independently and have a great opportunity to shape both your own work environment and the preschool's educational activities.

Who are you?

We are looking for a present, attentive, and curious educator who is a licensed preschool teacher. It is important for us that you can build trusting relationships with our children and that you are positive and easy to collaborate with your colleagues.

A strong drive and a willingness to contribute new ideas and perspectives are important qualities for developing the operations together with us. You enjoy working in nature and working with your hands, as the environment and creativity are central to our operations. You are welcome to have an interest in gardening as the preschool has its own greenhouse.

Since we are a parent cooperative, it is important that you feel comfortable with close collaboration with guardians who are also employers.

In the recruitment process, great importance will be placed on you as a person. The most important thing is not how much experience you have; we are more interested in you and how you can contribute to the operations. Collective agreements apply, and we offer wellness benefits.

The position is a full-time employment, but we are open to those who prefer to work part-time; please indicate the percentage you wish to work in your application. We apply a 6-month probationary period.

About the organization

The parent cooperative preschool Vildingen is an economic association that aims to conduct preschool activities without economic profit motives. The association is politically and religiously independent. The preschool is located in Kortedala, Eastern Gothenburg, right next to the natural area of Lärjeån valley.

At the preschool, there are 17-20 children (our goal is 18 children) aged 1-5 years. We work both age-based and age-integrated depending on the activity. We have a clear environmental focus, and our vision is for all children to become true environmental heroes with a big heart for their nature and surroundings. With us, children will encounter a safe, educational, and stimulating environment where children's learning and development are at the center. Based on the curriculum, our goals are:

• Children will develop knowledge and skills based on maturity and age. With the child at the center, we want to promote their play, imagination, and creativity to make learning as enjoyable as possible.
• Children will learn compassion and respect for other people.
• The educational activities are based on the children's thoughts, needs, and interests.
• All children should feel involved in the activities.
• Get to know animals and nature and have the opportunity for practical knowledge to live environmentally friendly and contribute to sustainable development.
