Within the Water and Wastewater operations, there is a technology unit, where your role as a systems developer in automation will be an important part. The technology department's main task is to provide technical support in operational-related issues and projects. The unit consists of various disciplines, including Electrical & Automation, Mechanical & Piping, Process, and Water and Wastewater Design.

The work we do is a prerequisite for society to function. What we do is visible in everyday life – clean water and functioning sewage that flows through the pipes. We also utilize organic waste and sewage sludge, which is refined into biogas that is sold at our facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a systems developer in automation, you will work with the development, programming, and integration of systems to streamline and optimize our processes. The role focuses on data-driven solutions and system integrations, but also includes some traditional fieldwork with machine-related automation.

You will primarily develop in SCADA and PLC systems such as Codesys, Step7, ControlBuilder, and various software for panels. In addition, you will also use Python to automate processes, manage data, and integrate systems.

The workplace you will be based at is the newly built office building Svalan, centrally located in Skellefteå. The tasks will also be performed through visits to our facilities around the municipality. The position includes the expectation to be part of an on-call/standby group. The work does not involve traveling and staying overnight in another location.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with professional experience as a developer/automation engineer and relevant education, such as a degree in computer science, automation, or electronics engineering, or equivalent experience in the field. Experience in the development and implementation of SCADA systems within the industry is an advantage, as well as knowledge in programming and automation, preferably with a focus on Python or other scripting languages.

It is also beneficial if you have experience in system integration and data management, for example, by working with databases.

As a person, you are structured and self-driven, which means you enjoy taking responsibility and driving your own work forward. You thrive on working with data-driven solutions and improving system flows. You are also service-oriented and have a good ability to collaborate and communicate to find the best solutions. You are driven to identify and solve technical problems, and have a strong desire to improve and optimize processes to ensure efficiency and quality.

Good communication skills in Swedish or English, both spoken and written, are a requirement for this position.
