Together with our client, we are now looking for a summer intern for the company's purchasing department. The role starts part-time for training during May and then transitions to full-time throughout the summer, from June to August. The position is primarily aimed at those studying a degree in purchasing and/or logistics who are looking for a valuable summer job.

About the position

You will become part of a purchasing team that currently consists of eight people working internationally based in central Hisingen, Gothenburg. Your main tasks as a junior buyer will involve placing orders, monitoring deliveries, and handling any discrepancies in the flow. In dialogue with production, you will also work on correcting and sending forecasts to existing suppliers based on the component needs of production. Below are examples of what a typical workday may include.

• Administering and executing order placements according to forecasts
• Following up to ensure suppliers confirm placed orders
• Proactively working to minimize disruptions in material deliveries
• Monitoring deliveries and handling any discrepancies

We are looking for someone who

• Is studying a post-secondary education in purchasing and/or logistics and can work full-time throughout the summer starting in May
• Has good knowledge of MS Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel for this position
• Communicates fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing

It is highly meritorious if you have previous work experience in purchasing and/or order placement and if you are familiar with working in an ERP system.

To succeed in this role, you need to be detail-oriented and have a strong ability to be meticulous. You work in a structured and systematic way by independently planning and organizing your work effectively. This also includes taking significant independent responsibility when something does not go as planned. Furthermore, it is important that you are communicative and care about both internal and external collaborations.
