Head of Asset Maintenance - Lead a technical transformation at APM Terminals

APM Terminals, part of Maersk and one of the world's leading global players in logistics, is now seeking an experienced Head of Asset Maintenance. Your area of responsibility as Head of Asset Maintenance As Head of Asset Maintenance for APMT Gothenburg, you will have overall responsibility for the maintenance department, ensuring that our vehicles, machines, and technical equipment are available 24/7, 365 days a year. You will lead an organization of approximately 15 staff and 50 technicians, mechanics, and electricians, including facility, crane, and straddle workshop, warehouse management, and planning.
You will report directly to the COO and be part of the terminal's management team, where you will contribute to and help shape the terminal's strategy and tactical plans. You own the technical strategy, and together with our knowledgeable and engaged engineers and specialists, you will lead technological development and drive innovations in automation, digitalization, and sustainability.
Your mission – Some of your key responsibilities
· Strategy & leadership: Plan, execute, and follow up on strategic and tactical plans to ensure a modern and efficient maintenance operation.
· Clear leadership: Be a visible and engaged leader at the terminal – a role model in the transformation journey where safety always comes first.
· Drive technical development: Implement and develop our technical strategy in automation and digitalization.
· Compliance: Ensure compliance with national and company laws, regulations, and policies.
· Collaboration & communication: Build strong relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at both local and global levels within our matrix organization.
· Budget & resource planning: Own and manage the budget, approve local expenses, and develop cost-effective solutions for technical maintenance.
· Drive cultural transformation: Lead a comprehensive cultural transformation within the department, where one step is to implement lean and TWI.
Are you our next leader?
We are looking for someone with deep experience in leading heavy technical workshops and a solid background in both operational and strategic work. You are a natural change leader with the ability to build from the ground up and create structure in a complex organization.
To succeed in this role, we see that you:
• Have managerial experience and have led technical teams through a transformation journey
• Are accustomed to navigating in an international environment and managing global perspectives
• Have an engineering degree in mechanical engineering or another relevant similar education or equivalent experience in technology.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both in Swedish and English, in speech and writing
• Work proactively, identifying and solving problems quickly and effectively.
• Have experience collaborating with unions and understand the importance of good cooperation.
• Have good computer skills in systems such as Microsoft Office, databases, ERP/CMMS
• Are familiar with what it means to work with Lean and TWI and are a good role model in Lean work.
• Have the ability to be both professional and clear, and consider it a given to highlight how we should work forward to ensure that we do the right things, at the right time, and with the highest quality.
