Summer Intern as Medical Secretary

About the Job

Your tasks will consist of medical documentation and healthcare administrative services in close collaboration with colleagues within the organization. Reception and cashier work may occur.

Our operations are conducted at Sahlgrenska Hospital, Östra Hospital, Mölndal Hospital, Högsbo Hospital, Flöjelbergsgatan - Mölndal, and Rågården - Gunnilse. The needs of the departments (for summer interns) determine which hospital you will be placed at.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a medical secretary, studying to become a medical secretary and will complete term two by June 2025, or a medical student who has completed term five by June 2025.

We are looking for summer interns who can work during the holiday period weeks 22-35 (May 26 - August 31). You should be able to work 8 consecutive weeks, including 4 weeks in July.

You have a strong service mindset, an interest in documentation, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Previous experience working in a hospital or in service professions is an advantage. We also see it as an advantage if you are studying to become a medical secretary and have completed your LIA placement within the Västra Götaland region. It is beneficial if you have knowledge of the Melior journal system and the Elvis patient administrative system.

To ensure we can provide our patients with good and safe care, it is important that our employees have good language skills and the ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

At Sahlgrenska University Hospital, care is provided around the clock, which means you may work days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Sahlgrenska University Hospital has a time quota linked to night shifts, which reduces weekly working hours for each night worked.

• If you have an ongoing education as a doctor: proof of results and registration certificate indicating which term you are in and how many credits you have so far.
