JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a support assistant for BmSS Finlandsvägen, which has a focus on psychiatry and is located in Tuve. The residence is newly built and was completed in January 2022. Proximity to the city center and public transport makes it easy to get to and from the unit.

As a support assistant, you will work both independently and together with your colleagues to support the tenants in their home environment and contribute to as good and independent a life as possible. Solo work occurs. In your work with the tenants, you will engage in leisure activities both on and off the premises, perform health and medical care interventions on delegation, collaborate in the professional network around the tenant, and assist with cooking, laundry, cleaning, and personal hygiene. Together with the workgroup, you will establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and activity descriptions. This way, we all become better at understanding needs and providing the right support.

You will work on a schedule, and working hours are allocated to daytime and evening hours as well as weekends. We plan the schedule time in TimeCare.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or educational work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination in between that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service to people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

It is a requirement that you have previous experience with social documentation. Furthermore, you have previously worked in care and support.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge and experience of the following methods: LAB (low-arousal approach), AAC (alternative and augmentative communication), Clear pedagogy, ESL (an independent life), IBIC (individual needs in focus), and MI (motivational interviewing). It is also advantageous if you have experience working with intellectual and mental disabilities.
