Treatment Assistant for Support Housing

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a treatment assistant, you will support and motivate individuals in the support housing towards a drug-free life, as well as assist them in achieving independence. You will maintain the structure of the housing and be involved in cooking, cleaning, and other daily tasks. By creating fixed routines and a meaningful everyday life, you help individuals develop their abilities.

You act as a role model and support with your presence in the housing, while motivating individuals to find motivation and strengthen their will to change their behavior and living habits. You encourage them to create opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time to break isolation.

Your tasks also include documenting and planning based on implementation plans, establishing weekly schedules, and maintaining contact with case managers and other actors. You will lead theme groups and manage medications.

The purpose of your work is to provide the individual with tools for a drug-free and meaningful everyday life, where support is based on the individual's needs and conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school education focused on social work or another form of post-secondary education that we deem appropriate. You also need to have experience working with individuals with substance abuse.

We seek someone with work experience from institutions or treatment homes, as well as a deeper understanding of addiction issues, including various substances. Experience working with the target group consisting of individuals with mental disabilities and addiction is also important.

You have a positive outlook, a strong commitment to people, and are responsible and loyal. You enjoy working in a team and collaborating with your colleagues. You always have our clients' best interests at heart in everything you do. You should be adaptable and attentive to different situations. Clear and concise in communication. Ability to build trusting relationships. Able to set healthy boundaries for yourself and the client, to maintain a professional relationship. You should be curious, brave, and creative.

Training in low-affect responses, ESL, motivational interviewing, and Case Manager is advantageous. You should have experience collaborating with various authorities and community actors, as well as further education in psychiatry. Knowledge of treatment methods such as relapse prevention, Craft, CRA, Hap, or gambling treatment is also desirable.
