For over 20 years, Gryning has offered HVB and open care for children, adolescents, and families, emergency and family homes, addiction care, supported apartments, measures against honor-related violence and oppression, as well as LSS housing. We provide counseling and training and assist with placements. Gryning is owned by the municipalities in Västra Götaland through the four municipal associations.

Söderåsen offers treatment for girls and boys aged 12–16 years, with norm-breaking behaviors such as criminality, drug use, vagrancy, extensive truancy, acting out behaviors, and conflict-filled relationships with family and networks, making institutional placement necessary. The youths often have various neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Their norm-breaking behaviors arise in their environment and context, are maintained and escalated in relation to each other. Overall, the youths who come to Söderåsen have a complex individual problem profile.

The work at Söderåsen is based on milieu therapy with individually adapted structure, activities are planned together with the youths, although some fixed structures apply to all youths. We apply a low-arousal approach, and MI permeates the operations both as a conversation method and as an approach. By offering an individually adapted structure and credible relationships, the safety, care, and predictability required for the youth to have the opportunity to grow and develop are created. At Söderåsen, there is knowledge, preparedness, and experience in handling acting out behaviors, crises, and the consequences of trauma. The treatment consists largely of motivational, goal-oriented, and supportive conversations with the young person, as well as a predictable everyday life.

We are now looking for a night awake treatment assistant. The position is part-time at 77%. You will work on a 3-week schedule with working hours from 20:30 to 07:30, including one weekend every three weeks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

What does the position entail?

We work based on a milieu therapeutic approach. As a night awake treatment assistant, your tasks include care and supervision of the youths. In the evening and at night, the focus is on maintaining safety, calm, and security. You should be a safe adult who can be present in the evening and night if someone is worried or sad. At Söderåsen, we have sleeping on-call staff that you will work with. The awake night staff has primary responsibility for everything that arises after the on-call staff has gone to bed. If necessary, you will wake the sleeping staff. Acute situations may arise that you need to handle, such as deviations and medical visits. As a night assistant, you will need to document in our documentation system. Nighttime tasks also include cleaning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a suitable high school education, e.g., in healthcare and social care or another relevant post-secondary education. If you have experience working in HVB homes and knowledge in psychiatry, that is an advantage. We expect you to be interested in youth. We are looking for someone who is stable and has the ability to create calm and security. You are responsible, have personal maturity, and good self-awareness. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Since the job may involve travel, a B driver's license is required.
