Description

Hällefors Municipality has a central student health service that serves the municipality's two primary schools, adapted primary school, and high school, with a total of about 800 students. The student health team consists of counselors, school nurses, special educators, school doctors, and psychologists. We are now looking for an additional special educator and are seeking someone who wants to be part of our team.

The goal of the student health service is to promote learning and remove barriers to learning. The work is health-promoting, preventive, and remedial at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and investigations of students' needs, and be involved in psychological assessments and diagnosing learning difficulties or other disabilities.
• Work with adaptations and support for students with different needs, both in teaching and in the school environment.
• Provide consultative support to school staff, including teachers and principals, to create a more inclusive and adapted learning environment.
• Support and guide parents to help them understand and support their children's development and learning.
• Collaborate with external actors such as habilitation, hearing educators, speech therapists, and special educational authorities.

Qualifications

• Degree in special education
• Experience working with students in need of special support.
• Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff.
• Empathy and responsiveness in working with students and colleagues.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Your Swedish is good, as is your ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
• Driver's license (B).

Desirable

• Experience with the documentation system PMO.
• Experience working with students with neuropsychiatric and intellectual disabilities.
• If you have a teaching degree for the later years of primary school (grades 4–9).

Conditions

Permanent employment at 100% daytime with start in August 2025. The position is a holiday position.
