Job Advertisement: Assistant for a Happy 7-Year-Old

Hello,

I am a 7-year-old boy living in Södra Sandby with my family, which consists of my mom, dad, and two siblings. We usually have a lot of fun and joy at home! I go to school during the day and am looking for someone who wants to work as an assistant at home with me in the afternoons, evenings, nights, and some weekends. I hope that you, just like me, are social, cheerful, playful, and have lots of energy and fun to share!

I have epilepsy and a muscle disease that means I cannot walk or sit on my own, so I need your help daily. I need assistance with things like a button (for water), personal hygiene, activities, and transfers. Additionally, there will be plenty of fun and play! When we are outside, I sit in a wheelchair.

I am very social and love to communicate with others in my own way - through sounds, body language, and other expressions (verbal speech is not present). I don’t have any speech aids but clearly show what I want, so don’t worry! I love to swim, listen to music, and be outdoors. I hope you want to help brighten my days with play, joy, and lots and lots of warmth!

I need help around the clock, except when I am at school between about 08:30-16:00. I am now looking for someone who wants to work as a substitute assistant. The working hours are primarily in the afternoons/evenings or nights. On weekdays, shifts are scheduled between 16:00-22:00 or 22:00-07:30 (awake night). On weekends, there are 12-hour shifts (08:00-20:00 or 20:00-08:00).

I am looking for someone who is playful, caring for children, reliable, and organized. You should be proactive and willing to take initiative in social situations. And of course, I want you to be someone who always puts my well-being first. Education/Experience in assistance/care work is not a requirement, but experience working with children or similar is a plus. The most important thing is that the chemistry between you and me is right and that you want to help me in a way that suits us!
