The work is multifaceted, and we are looking for someone who wants to make a real difference in strengthening the upbringing conditions for children and young people in Malmö. The main job responsibilities will involve planning, leading, and implementing activities at the Allaktivitetshus Apelgård. The activities are developed based on the wishes of Malmö residents. Our target group includes children, young adults, adults, and families. Furthermore, the role involves collaborating and developing partnerships with local and external actors as well as residents in the area. The work is conducted both individually and in groups with colleagues and other partners.

You will also work with outreach activities, self-organized groups, and residents in the area. Additionally, some administrative tasks are included, such as participating in various planning/process groups, working with child impact assessments, and analyzing participant surveys and similar tasks.

Some evening and weekend work is included in the position. Work may also occur at any of the other Allaktivitetshus.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education such as leisure leader, social pedagogy, social sciences, behavioral sciences, or other post-secondary education that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. We seek someone with a personal interest in culture and experience in conducting cultural activities with the target group of children and youth. This could include areas such as dance, film, photography, creation, theater, or music, as we see that this can contribute to cultural activities for Malmö residents. A leadership education is an advantage.

You should have at least 2 years of experience working with children and youth in groups, as well as previous roles as a youth leader or group leader. We prefer candidates with project management experience and an interest in leadership. Experience in area-based work, children's rights, and collaboration with internal/external actors, as well as language skills in one of Malmö's major languages, is an advantage. A B driver's license is a requirement.

To succeed in this role, you need to easily build trusting and professional relationships with children, young adults, adults, and other key stakeholders. You should also have an interest in working with the target group. Additionally, we are looking for someone with good collaboration skills, who is self-driven and communicative. You have a critical approach to norms, are open-minded and flexible. You are inclusive and fair and know how to set boundaries without being too strict. You engage with the children and activities, are helpful, resilient to stress, and understanding. As a person, you are resourceful and creative and have the ability to find innovative solutions when challenges arise. Your curiosity and courage allow you to see opportunities where others may see obstacles.

About the Workplace

The Culture Administration currently operates four Allaktivitetshus, in Lindängen, Hermodsdal, Apelgård, and at Munkhätteskolan. In 2025, the fifth Allaktivitetshus will be launched. The Allaktivitetshus utilize school facilities and offer free activities to residents in the area of all ages. Activities are offered before, during, and after school hours. The operations are based on the needs and wishes of Malmö residents, and the work is conducted in close dialogue with the residents in the areas based on a rights-based approach. The operations are characterized by diversity, human rights, and trust in Malmö residents. Great emphasis is placed on people's opportunities for influence and participation. The Allaktivitetshus are part of Cultural Events and Meeting Places within the Culture Administration, a department that has the privilege of working closely and often together with the residents of Malmö.

Due to the fact that the Convention on the Rights of the Child became Swedish law in 2020, the unit for Allaktivitetshus has chosen to include the children and youth who visit the operations in this recruitment process, as part of the work on children's rights.
