Are you passionate about working with young people and creating meaningful leisure activities? We are now looking for two dedicated youth leaders for our youth centers in Bunkeflostrand and Västra Hamnen.

We are looking for someone with a strong youth focus who wants to help develop safe, inclusive, and inspiring meeting places for young people. With us, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the daily lives of young people through relationship-building work, creative activities, and exciting projects.

Job Responsibilities

Bunkeflostrand youth center will move into new premises at Skånegården after the summer, which is a historic 17th-century house with a thatched roof and a large garden. The unique location and character of the youth center provide an opportunity to help build a one-of-a-kind operation. Together with colleagues and young people, you will plan and implement youth center activities focusing on open activities, group activities, and outreach work. Bunkeflostrand youth center has a strong focus on outdoor life and camping activities, and in the new premises, there will also be opportunities to create a wide range of activities, including creative arts and a music/podcast studio.

The Västra Hamnen youth center is located in large and beautiful premises right by Stapelbäddsparken. Here, you will work with young people and colleagues to plan and implement youth center activities with a focus on open activities, group activities, and outreach work. The premises are 1000 square meters and include spaces for creative activities, a café, a recording studio, and a large concert hall with a stage and fixed sound/light equipment. The operation has recently moved in, and there are great opportunities to contribute to shaping the content and activities of the house. In addition to regular activities for the target group, the Västra Hamnen youth center also offers activities for young people with various forms of disabilities and community activities in Limhamn. You will be part of a large staff group and work in a diverse environment.

You will engage with young people using a coaching approach to support their ideas and projects and guide them toward a meaningful leisure time and a rich cultural life.

Within the youth center unit, you will also collaborate with other meeting places and youth centers for both large and small events as well as during school breaks. Collaboration with other actors, both municipal services and civil society, is an important part of the role.

Your schedule will include regular day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a youth leader degree from a folk high school or other relevant post-secondary education combined with experience working with our target group (young people aged 12–18)
• Has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you:

• Have previously worked with our target group (young people aged 12–18)
• Have documented knowledge of norm criticism, gender equality, and participation
• Have training in a coaching approach
• Have been engaged voluntarily in any organization or association

As a person, you are structured and good at organizing things, both independently and with others. You spread warmth and joy and show that you care about the youth center's visitors. You are also a good listener. You have good teamwork skills and find it easy to connect with new people, both young people and other professionals.

It is also important to us that you are someone who wants to do things together with the young people who visit the youth center.

The workplace - Youth Center Unit Under the leisure administration's youth center unit, 18 youth centers are operated throughout the city, targeting the age group 12–18 years.
