As a street engineer, you will be part of the Project and Planning group. The group consists of professionals with engineering and project management skills and is directly under the head of the administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of street engineer, your two main tasks will be focused on lighting and traffic.

Street lighting is an area that will be in focus in the coming years. There is a technology shift from older fixtures to new, more efficient fixtures, as well as separation projects and upgrades of existing facilities. As a street engineer, you will take the lead in this work and drive development forward together with the municipality's contractors. As the lighting industry is constantly evolving, we are looking for someone who is curious about new technical solutions to contribute to reduced energy consumption.

As a street engineer, you will also be proactive in traffic issues. As the person responsible for the municipality's traffic matters, you will work to make our sidewalks, bike paths, streets, and parking areas functional, safe, and accessible. Your tasks will include handling feedback related to traffic and parking, as well as prioritizing and ordering measures within the area. You will also manage local traffic regulations, process traffic arrangement plans and excavation permits, respond to referrals related to traffic, and participate in campaigns to promote sustainable travel.

Both of the above areas involve a lot of dialogue and collaboration with other departments within the municipality, contractors, other authorities, and the public.

The Project and Planning function is a small group with many varied and fun tasks. We work as a team and help each other with the assignments that arise, so you will certainly also work on other varied assignments that do not solely pertain to traffic or lighting.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education or experience in electrical work, for example as a lighting designer, lighting engineer, or with other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.

Alternatively, you have education or experience in traffic issues, for example as a traffic engineer or traffic administrator, or have other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.

We are looking for someone who is proactive in the areas you will be responsible for. You will have great freedom to deliver within these areas, and we hope you are willing to think outside the box, be brave, and curious to try new methods and solutions.

You also have;

• good ability to express yourself in Swedish in both speech and writing, as well as good computer skills.
• ease in collaborating and building relationships with others as well as working independently.
• excellent communication skills that you can use in various contexts.
