Communicator Wanted for Haninge Municipality

Do you want to help develop Haninge Municipality's communication work? We are looking for a skilled and driven communicator to the communications unit, who wants to contribute to making it easy for residents, business owners, visitors, and employees in Haninge.

The communications unit has 13 employees and is responsible for the municipality's strategic communication work. The unit coordinates, directs, supports, and drives overall development in the field of communication and is responsible for strategies, guidelines, and tools. The unit is responsible for the municipality's common channels and provides operational strategic and tactical communication support to the municipality's administrations. With coordinated, strategic, and easily accessible communication, the unit's deliveries aim to strengthen trust in Haninge Municipality, focusing on the municipality's prioritized issues and core operations. The communication should help make it easy to live, work, and run a business in Haninge Municipality.

The communications unit is part of the development department, which is one of five departments within the municipal executive office. The department has just over 70 employees responsible for, among other things, the municipality's overall IT, communication, digitalization, and service.

Your Role as a Communicator

As a communicator, you will support managers in the municipality's operations in their communication, both external and internal. Based on needs and desired effects, you will assess, plan, implement, and follow up on communication efforts together with the operations. You understand the communicative processes and, based on an analysis of target groups, make effective choices of channels, message formulations, and packaging. You monitor events in the operations and political decisions that need to be communicated, and handle both crisis communication and change communication. You collaborate with your colleagues in the unit, lead and participate in communication projects, with the target audience and desired effect in focus.

The communications unit is currently in an exciting phase of change where we are sharpening both our working methods and deliveries together. We look forward to welcoming a new colleague who wants to help shape the operations.

Are You Our New Colleague?

We are looking for someone who is analytical and strategic with the ability to identify and prioritize communication efforts that create value for the organization. You are used to having a holistic perspective while also having an eye for details. You see the advantages of collaborating for the best possible delivery and are happy to share your knowledge and experience.

You are a skilled writer and can develop messages based on complex issues and materials tailored to the target group and channel. For you, it is natural to use digital channels, and you are curious about new solutions that help reach the target groups. You are experienced in publishing both on the web and on social media and adapting information to meet current legal requirements for accessibility.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. As a person, you are structured, meticulous, proactive, confident in your role, and adaptable to change. You have an unpretentious and solution-focused approach and enjoy collaborating, which allows you to contribute to both the team's and the organization's development.

You understand the dynamics of working in a politically governed organization.

Your Qualifications and Background

  • University degree in media and communication studies, or other education and/or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Several years of experience working independently as a communicator
  • A skilled writer with the ability to formulate messages based on complex issues and materials
  • Experience working with digital channels and social media
  • Experience leading communication projects
  • Knowledge of publishing tools for the web
  • Proficient in the Office suite, Photoshop, and preferably other Adobe programs

It is advantageous if you have experience working in the public sector, preferably in municipalities/regions, knowledge of the DOS law, and experience with generative AI in communication work.

We Offer You

We offer a stimulating and creative environment with competent and knowledgeable colleagues, where we all want to make Haninge Municipality a little better every day. We have free access to a gym in the municipal building, wellness grants, annual working hours, and the possibility of vacation exchange and days off during holidays.

Warm welcome to submit your application!

In this recruitment, we have already made our choices of advertising channels and partners. We kindly but firmly decline all forms of assistance from external parties in the recruitment process.

Haninge Municipality sees diversity as a strength and welcomes all applicants. Our competence-based recruitment methodology aims to focus on the individual's competence and thereby counteract discrimination.
