We are now looking for a preschool teacher for Björkhyddans Preschool in Sjövik. With learning environments based on trust, meetings, and diversity, we develop the citizens of the future into communicative and interactive individuals. The preschool is part of the Östad unit together with the school and after-school care. Björkhyddan consists of four home bases organized into two large work teams.

The preschool is close to nature with walking distance to the forest, Lake Mjörn, and Sjövik's library. At the preschool, preschool teachers and childcare workers work in an organization that promotes collegial learning. The preschool is led by a principal who actively works to create safety, well-being, and trust through participation and influence for staff, children, and guardians.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a driven and curious preschool teacher who wants to help advance our work. Our education aims to develop knowledge by allowing children to explore their environment and interests based on what they find interesting, fun, and developmental.

The pedagogy at our preschool is characterized by creativity, exploration, and a language and knowledge-developing approach with a focus on reading aloud. We base our planning and implementation of teaching on the children's curiosity. Since we want reading aloud to play a significant role in our teaching, the preschool has its own library where children and educators can meet. The goal is a safe, joyful, meaningful, and educational preschool. As support in the work, there are two pedagogical leaders in the unit who help drive our systematic quality work forward based on current research and literature. With us, we reflect on the norms and values that are both visible and invisible and how we can work creatively to challenge these.

We have a special educator employed who supports and challenges the work around children's language development and who takes responsibility for children's right to be heard, seen, and to be who they are.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed preschool teacher and has good collaboration skills, is open, flexible, positive, and creative. It is an advantage if you have experience with a language-developing approach as well as previous experience in creating accessible and exploratory learning environments. You are willing to take responsibility and can independently and with colleagues drive projects forward where children's participation and influence become visible. In addition, you have a reflective approach where planning of teaching is based on the conditions, needs, and interests of the children.
