We are now looking for a university lecturer in surgery, small animals.
About the job
The duties include practical and theoretical teaching, as well as examination of veterinary students in the subject of small animal surgery. Furthermore, clinical work, including on-call duties, as well as any administrative responsibilities (e.g., course management) at the department will be part of the employment. There may be opportunities to combine the position with participation in research projects. The clinical work and clinical teaching take place at the University Animal Hospital, UDS.
Your background
We are looking for someone with a veterinary degree and an interest in and clinical experience of small animal healthcare. You should also have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. Documented clinical experience in small animal surgery will be emphasized. Pedagogical skills, experience and interest in teaching, research experience, as well as international and/or national specialist competence in the subject area or related field are meritorious.
Good collaboration skills, flexibility, and commitment are important, as well as the ability to work both independently and in a group. Personal qualities will be highly valued.
About us
The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for undergraduate education, research, and doctoral education in anesthesiology, imaging diagnostics, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. Our activities span all animal species across all subjects.
In the field of small animal surgery, undergraduate education and research are conducted with a particular focus on the species dog and cat. Parts of the teaching are cross-species. We now need to strengthen our teaching capacity in undergraduate education and are therefore seeking a university lecturer in the subject.
