Area of Operation Academic Children's Hospital
Small hearts need great care! We are a small hospital in the big picture, and it is precisely in the small that our greatness lies. Here, all the expertise a sick child may need is available, along with good collaboration, respect, and care. We offer a really good introduction for newcomers and many interesting opportunities for development. There is also unexpectedly much joy in what can sometimes be very difficult. We take care of the children and their families, and we take care of each other – because we know that we do a much better job together!
Our Operations
In recent years, we at the children's emergency department have worked hard to develop our operations to best accommodate all our patient categories. We have a vision to further develop our working methods and therefore want to expand our strong team!
At the children's emergency department, we receive and treat children and adolescents with acute medical, orthopedic, and surgical diseases and injuries aged 0-18 years. Our operations are open around the clock, and the number of patients and the intensity of work vary from day to day. The children's emergency department is part of the section for acute pediatric care, which also includes the pediatric emergency care unit 95E and the specialized pediatrics department. All units are in very close proximity to each other.
Your Mission
As a nurse with us in the children's emergency department, you will work in a team with other nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors. The work involves standard nursing tasks in a pediatric emergency department and offers great variation in terms of difficulty, content, and pace. Our patients arrive both walking and by ambulance, and we often receive patients who require immediate, acute care in emergency rooms. All patients are triaged and prioritized according to RETTS-P. The workday in the children's emergency department consists of many meetings with our patients and their families, and since the patients' conditions can change rapidly, the work is both varied and challenging, requiring the ability to assess and prioritize.
Your onboarding is structured and takes place in the children's emergency department in close collaboration with experienced colleagues and our education-responsible nurse. To support your work, there is also a deputy department manager on duty daily on the care floor. We care about maintaining a good atmosphere and always helping each other. We highly value safety and therefore continuously work on training in various forms. After each shift, a joint reflection is also held. If interested, there is an opportunity in the position to rotate between the children's emergency department and our acute care department.
Does this sound interesting? Please reach out, and we will tell you more.
Your Qualifications
We are now looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Specialist training in health and medical care for children and adolescents, as well as previous experience in pediatric care or emergency care/emergency department, is highly meritorious.
Your Skills
You have a strong interest in pediatric care and find emergency care exciting. You are confident in your role as a nurse and have a desire to help make our operations even better. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
We Offer
We can offer a permanent full-time position. There is an opportunity to rotate between the emergency department for children and adolescents and the pediatric emergency care unit 95E. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and nights using a points model. The points model provides both reduced working hours and financial compensation. For information on what the model entails, you are welcome to contact the recruiting manager. Before hiring, a background check from the police's suspicion and criminal record will be conducted.
Start date by agreement. A probationary period of up to 6 months may occur.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/)).
