Welcome with your application and become a part of us.

Are you a nurse with an interest in surgical patients? Do you value a workplace with a strong focus on care, where you can contribute to good healthcare? Then we at 70D are the workplace for you!

Our Operations

The Department of Surgery/Urology consists of three surgical wards, one urology ward, and five clinics that provide advanced surgical/urological care. We are a research-intensive clinic with close collaboration with Uppsala University, where we invest in both education and professional development, so you can feel secure and develop over time.

At surgical ward 70D, we provide highly specialized surgical care focusing on colorectal, endocrine, and emergency surgery. We are one of four hospitals in Sweden authorized to conduct national highly specialized care (NHV) with HIPEC for patients with metastatic cancer in the peritoneum, and also for endocrine abdominal tumors, something we are very proud of! A large part of our patients are planned and operated electively, but can also be admitted via the emergency department or from other hospitals. We also receive patients who have experienced trauma, such as gunshot and knife injuries, falls, etc. The combination of elective and emergency surgery creates a stimulating work environment where no day is the same.

We are a team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, pharmacists, and other important health professionals who work together in teams around the surgical patient. We also have nurses with special functions such as specialist nurses, clinical nursing leaders, and section responsible nurses aimed at driving and developing care for our patients. Here we work with the framework Fundamentals of Care as our value base and with a clear person-centered approach where the patient is in focus. Here you as a nurse can make a difference!

We are now looking for someone who wants to work with varied tasks but also get a secure and educational start. We have developed a structured and comprehensive introduction program that consists of at least five weeks of introduction for you who are newly graduated; if you have previous experience, we will customize your introduction according to your needs.

Your Mission

As a nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and learn more about advanced surgery to care for patients with complex care needs. Here you will meet patients from 15 years old and from various backgrounds. We work to optimize surgical care and therefore focus a lot on postoperative pain management, drainage and wound care, fluid balance, and nutrition.

As new in the role, you will work with advanced surgical care under clinical supervision from experienced colleagues. On our ward, specialist-trained nurses work who have advanced competence in supervision and the surgical patient. They spend part of their working time on introduction, education, and clinical supervision of newly hired nurses so that you get a secure and good start with us. You will gain a broad foundational competence in surgery and emergency care but also the opportunity to develop in a specific area. We offer the possibility of paid specialist training in surgical care if you wish to deepen your knowledge for the surgical patient.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse with or without previous experience. The important thing is that you have an interest in the surgical patient and that you value working with a person-centered approach. It should be natural for you to lead, plan, and prioritize your work. You collaborate with others in a responsive and respectful manner and care about the team's work. Personal suitability is of great importance.

We Offer

We can offer you a permanent position or a temporary position with a working degree according to agreement with us at surgical ward 70D.

With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/)).

Region Uppsala values the qualities that gender balance and diversity bring to the organization. We therefore welcome applicants of all genders and with different backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.

Region Uppsala places all permanent staff according to the needs of the total defense. This means that for the individual employee there are no obligations in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.

Background checks against suspicion and criminal records will be conducted regarding all individuals whom the employer intends to employ or engage for patient-related work based on the fact that they may work in psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and adolescents, or compulsory care of substance abusers, areas that are subject to optional record extractions. This applies to all who will work closely with patients even if the tasks are currently not intended to primarily involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.

This recruitment is conducted entirely by Region Uppsala. We therefore ask for no phone calls from recruitment companies and ad sellers.
