About the job

You will work in one or more of our units with common tasks for an animal caregiver at level 2 or 3. With us, you will work evidence-based and have access to modern equipment.

The position is hourly paid, and the work may be scheduled during the day, evening, or night - on weekdays or weekends.

Your background

You are an animal caregiver at level 2 or 3 with experience working in a larger animal hospital. Experience in intensive care is an advantage.

You enjoy meeting pet owners in various situations and recognize the importance of maintaining good customer relationships. You are communicative with a good ability to create and maintain good relationships with colleagues. You are interested in participating in creating good conditions for basic education and research. You know that a situation-driven operation is something you can handle. Your approach is scientific with an interest in evidence-based care.

As a person, you are structured, can handle occasionally stressful situations, have good self-awareness, and a desire to contribute to the organization. You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish. In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal abilities.

About us

The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for basic education, research, and doctoral education in anesthesiology, imaging diagnostics, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. Our activities span all animal species.

At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced veterinary care go hand in hand. We train tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses and provide first-class care for companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the future of veterinary care.

Under one roof, we offer healthcare for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern, purpose-built facilities, we have access to advanced imaging diagnostics and a veterinary medical specialist laboratory. UDS also includes an ambulatory clinic that goes out to stables and farms to examine and treat horses and livestock.

Employment type:

Hourly paid employment; specific fixed-term employment.

This means that you will be offered work for shorter periods during the period specified below under the heading "scope". You can accept or decline each opportunity you are offered work. When you accept one or more job opportunities, a new employment contract will be entered into for those occasions.

Scope:

The work will involve approximately 20-30 hours of work per month, but it may vary. The employment is valid during 2025.
