We are now looking for a vocational teacher for our nursing assistant training, preferably familiar with folk high school pedagogy.

Your tasks will consist of teaching and mentoring based on the participants' personal and knowledge development. We work according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's subject curriculum and with the pedagogy of folk education. Our common goal is for our participants to be able to apply for a protected professional title after completing their studies and to be employable. You will plan overall together with a colleague, but you will independently plan and conduct your own lessons. You are familiar with working subject-integrated in method rooms, with peer learning and scenario exercises. APL visits are also included.

In addition to teaching, you will be a mentor. You are expected to participate in school-wide activities and in the broader school community. The course collaborates both internally between classes and externally.

Qualifications: We want you to have solid knowledge, both theoretical and practical, in healthcare-related subject areas, and clinical experience in emergency care. Preferably a licensed nurse with pedagogical training who has worked in several different areas. You should be well acquainted with VIPS and the person-centered patient perspective.

You are skilled in working language-supportively.

Personal qualities: Creative and a good ability to listen. You have the ability to adapt your communication based on the recipient.

You should have a grounding in the educational view of folk education and the school's values. A folk high school teacher education is an advantage. We can offer you a stimulating job in a dynamic and warm environment.

About us

Ljungskile Folk High School is located between the sea and the mountains, with a fantastic view over Ljungskile Bay. We want to provide space for life and societal issues and emphasize respect for others' opinions. Democracy, culture, and global issues are high on our agenda, which is also reflected in our course offerings and everything that happens at the school.

The proximity to forests and the sea makes it easy to get out into nature. Bredfjället is just behind the school with miles of hiking trails. In the sea, you can swim or kayak.

The school receives about 280 participants, and the boarding school has space for 90 of them.

Teaching is based on each participant's active involvement, with the premise that everyone has something to contribute. Therefore, we work a lot with cohesion, group processes, and camaraderie.
