Join the World's Largest Humanitarian Movement
The Red Cross is the world's largest humanitarian movement and operates in 191 countries. When disaster strikes, we are already on the ground helping vulnerable people, thanks in large part to 16 million volunteers.
The Swedish Red Cross operates in crisis and disaster response, protection issues, as well as health and care. We have the trust to convert contributions from individuals, companies, and authorities into concrete actions for the most vulnerable.
We fight to save lives and give hope everywhere, every day. Regardless of your role, you contribute – in your profession and through action and courage. Welcome to our world!
About the Position
Do you want to work with HR in the world's leading disaster organization? Are you a skilled administrator? Do you want to be part of an HR team with high ambitions? Then this job is for you! The HR department at the Swedish Red Cross (SRK) provides HR support to our service organization, to our local Red Cross associations across the country, with recruitment for international assignments in the field, and with training. The department consists of about 30 people. One of our HR administrators is leaving us after the summer to move to another part of the country, and we are now looking for a replacement.
We offer a varied job where you have the opportunity to grow and learn new things. You will join an HR team that collaborates closely and supports, encourages, and relieves each other as needed. It is important to us that you want to be an active part of that. The unit consists of 12 people, including seven HR partners, three HR administrators, a payroll coordinator, and a manager.
As an HR administrator, you provide administrative support to your colleagues across a range of issues.
- You write employment contracts and other salary-related documents, you onboard new employees and make changes in our payroll system Flex HRM.
- You update our intranet and coordinate MBL negotiation documents and protocols.
- A large part of the work also involves being responsible for all incoming cases in our case management system, where we receive inquiries from managers and employees internally as well as from external parties.
- An important part of the role is also to document and create and keep track of administrative routines and structures.
In addition to the more routine tasks, you will work with our payroll coordinator in preparation for the monthly payroll processing. Our payroll management is outsourced but requires some pre- and post-work. You will also participate in various cross-unit projects focused on administration, such as streamlining onboarding and offboarding. The position also includes ongoing coordination of information on our intranet, and you will be part of SRK's editorial team for internal communication.
About You
We are looking for a self-driven colleague who is proactive, curious, tries new things, and is willing to experiment.
- It is important that you are meticulous and have a high degree of integrity as you will come into contact with sensitive information.
- You should be able to work on multiple parallel processes simultaneously and prioritize daily how to best use your time.
- Providing good service to colleagues, managers, and employees is a significant part of the job.
- You need to be familiar with working in various systems and have an easy time learning new systems.
- It is essential that you have education in HR or several years of experience in HR administration. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Additional Information
The position is a permanent full-time role based in Stockholm with the possibility to work from home up to two days a week. Start date is at the end of August 2025 for a couple of weeks of handover.
At SRK, we strive for diversity of perspectives and backgrounds in our recruitment. This means we welcome applicants from other sectors or industries. If you believe your background is relevant to the position even if it does not fully fit the description, challenge us and apply! The most important thing is that you have education in HR or experience in HR administration, are proactive, and courageous.
Application and Recruitment Process
The application deadline is April 22, 2025.

Our recruitment process starts with an initial selection based on an established requirement profile and is followed by interviews and, in some cases, online tests, as well as background checks and reference checks.
As the Swedish Red Cross is part of the "Inter-Agency Scheme for the Disclosure of Safeguarding-related Misconduct" to protect our sector from sexual abuse, we ask specific questions regarding this to your references. Final candidates may also be screened against EU and UN sanctions lists.
