From April 1, Kooperativet Vilja is looking for a personal assistant for an 8-year-old boy living in Staffanstorp/Malmö. He is looking for someone who has retained their childlike spirit and can come up with fun activities! As he prefers female assistants, we welcome female applicants.

The boy has extensive multiple disabilities with recurring (daily) epileptic seizures and is wheelchair-bound. With your help, he wants to explore everyday life through training and stimulation of the 5 senses. His biggest interests are swimming, music, and walks. As a child, he needs care and closeness and likes to hold your hand when he feels anxious.

You will work awake nights equivalent to full-time. Every other week, the boy stays with his mother in Malmö and every other week with his father in Staffanstorp. We prefer that you have the opportunity to work in both locations as it is important for the boy to feel continuity and security.

Since his condition varies, it is important that you as an assistant are adaptable. Being responsible and able to follow routines is a prerequisite for the position. Experience in a care-related profession is an advantage. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

To be considered for the role, it is required that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You should have good physical ability and be smoke-free.

• Is fond of children and has retained their childlike spirit
• Is attentive and observant of signals/body language
• Has some form of experience in a care-related profession

In accordance with current regulations for work with minors, submission of a criminal record extract is a mandatory requirement before employment can begin. We apply a fixed-term employment initially to ensure the quality of assistance.

Through membership in the Cooperative, assistance users are given a unique opportunity to influence their own assistance and how the cooperative is run.

The cooperative is an IfA approved assistance provider and follows a business-adapted collective agreement between Fremia and Kommunal. As an employee, you will be offered wellness benefits after 6 months of employment as well as ongoing competency-enhancing training.
