Social Worker for School Social Team

A functioning school education is an important protective factor in preventing exclusion and ill health. Therefore, the city of Malmö, in collaboration between the labor market and social services and the primary school administration, has started four school social teams, each linked to a geographical area. The school social teams provide an opportunity for schools and social services to work together to contribute to increased classroom attendance and to support students with unfavorable development at an early stage.

In each team, two counselors from the primary school administration collaborate with two employees from the labor market and social services.

We are now looking for two committed, innovative, brave, and driven social workers for one of our teams.

Job Responsibilities

In collaboration with schools, other social services, and other actors, you will work to strengthen the conditions for students to achieve educational goals, increase school attendance, promote a positive experience of schooling, and enhance students' well-being and safety. The work is conducted within the network around the student in collaboration with other actors.

You will work with preventive, supportive, and motivational change efforts based on a systematic work process and clear methodology. Your assignments are based on applications from schools in need of support and interventions from the school social team. Based on the applications, you and the team will conduct an in-depth mapping that will then form the basis for the change efforts and goals that are formulated together with students and their guardians. Thereafter, the change process work begins.

You will also conduct manual-based parent courses for parents.

The work will largely take place during the day, but some evening work will occur. There is flexibility available.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and several years of experience in social work focused on children and youth. You have worked supportively and motivationally with social change efforts and are used to collaborating with other actors. You have a good understanding of social services legislation. Proficient Swedish in both spoken and written form is required.
