JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

A support family is an intervention that can be granted to an applicant according to the Act (1993:387) on support and service for certain disabled persons, LSS. Through the intervention, relatives or other close persons can be given relief and space for relaxation. For the person with a disability, the intervention can meet the need for a change of environment and recreation and provide opportunities for personal development. The support family receives the child who has been granted the intervention in their home.

We are looking for a support family for a boy in his early teens with an interest in animals, swimming, nature, forests, and games. There is a need for great understanding and compassion due to mental health issues and diagnoses such as autism and ADHD. We prefer that the support family shares the same interests and does not have younger children, and has the time to provide the care needed. The scope of the assignment is 4 days/month.

The support family receives compensation in the form of a fee and expense reimbursement based on the time report submitted by the support family. Compensation for support families is based on the recommendations of Sweden's municipalities and regions. Being a support family is not an employment form but a task.

QUALIFICATIONS

No specific education is required to be a support family, but you must be over 18 years old. As a support family, it is important that you are attentive, clear, and consistent. Naturally, it is important that you enjoy being with other people and that you can see and meet the needs of the applicant, as you may mean a lot to the person. You who apply should want and be prepared for the assignment to possibly last for a longer time. A police record extract must be presented, and consent for an extract from the social register must be given before an employment offer is made.
