Personal assistance is an intervention according to LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons). As a personal assistant, you provide individual support and care to individuals who have been granted personal assistance because they need help with one or more basic needs. Each client is unique, and your tasks will vary based on the client's needs. You uphold the client's self-determination and integrity, contributing to a smooth daily life.

About the position  We are now looking for personal assistants who are good at speaking and providing visual interpretation for a 19-year-old boy in Tygelsjö. The boy lives with his family in a villa, and there is also a small dog in the home. 

Due to his disabilities, the boy needs help to carry out activities such as exercising, swimming, and being outdoors in nature during his free time. He also needs assistance with personal care and hygiene, mobility, as well as support and help during meals and communication. As an assistant, you need to help the boy interpret the world around him as he is blind, so it is important that you can easily talk and describe what is happening in the surroundings for him to keep up with what is going on. The boy does not have spoken language, and as an assistant, you also need to interpret what he wants or wishes to convey. Before you start working independently with the boy, you will receive proper training to get to know him and learn how to handle different situations.

We are now looking for you who match the following: The role of a personal assistant places high demands on the ability to create good relationships. We are looking for someone who is responsible, secure, and calm as a person. You should have the desire and willingness to work with a young person with extensive disabilities. You should preferably be strong enough to assist the boy with mobility, and you have a positive demeanor. Similar experience is good but not necessary for the assignment. Personal suitability and interaction with the boy are, however, important. You must have a driver's license as you will need to drive the client in his car to various activities. 

Working hours, employment rate, and salary: We offer hourly employment to start, but for the right person, there is an opportunity for a fixed schedule. 

Working hours vary between morning, day, and evening, both on weekdays and holidays. We offer you a workplace in a lovely family with varied tasks.

Start date Immediately or as agreed.
