The Workplace
The Northwest locality consists of Västervångskolan, the resource school Borgen, adapted primary school, and the preschools Högalid, Fågelsången, and Ajgeldingerska villan. The Northwest locality is led by a local principal together with deputy principals, an administrative manager, and a kitchen manager. Our goal is to create a continuous thread from preschool to school.
In our principal area, we focus on the student’s learning and joy of work. We have high expectations of our students and each other. The Northwest locality has initiated a values project. We work based on five core values: Trust, joy, security, community, and equal value for all.
Västervångskolan is a modern F-9 school where students and educators have been active and involved in designing the school from an inclusive perspective. The school is located in an expanding part of Trelleborg, and about 900 students have their workplace with us.
In the adapted primary school at Västervångskolan, students studying subject orientation attend. The adapted primary school is locally integrated at Västervångskolan and is divided into age-mixed groups.

Job Responsibilities
As a social educator, you will work in the middle school but also be connected to leisure activities in the lower school during holidays. Together with skilled, experienced educators in the teams and in close collaboration with the principal, you will all contribute to learning and thus the development of the educational work to meet the needs of all our students.
In addition to knowledge in various school subjects, students should also have opportunities to develop self-esteem, identity, interaction, and various social skills during the school day. In your role, you will help students find structure for different social situations that arise throughout the school day. You will prevent various problem-causing behaviors among students through values work. You are part of the school's work with reports of bullying.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a social educator education from a vocational college and/or folk high school equivalent to two years (400 YH points) or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. A requirement is that you have at least one year of experience working with children and adolescents. You have knowledge of low-arousal responses within the school as well as MI, solution-focused conversations, and support groups.

We are looking for someone with a solution-focused approach. By this, we mean that you focus on and start from what works and that you take your own initiatives. You have the ability to coach and motivate students by creating situations where children succeed, and you see what needs to be done and where you are needed most during the workday. Your view of children is characterized by respect and the belief that all students can and want to develop.
You are a secure and positive person who finds it easy to collaborate and build good relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues. You also have the ability to set boundaries when needed, and you can solve problems that arise. In your interactions with students and guardians, you are clear and attentive to the students' needs, and you adapt your communication and approach based on the individual and the situation. You need to have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as the work involves both documentation and communication in Swedish.
