Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a school counselor for Glasbruksskolan. In the role of counselor at Glasbruksskolan, you have a special responsibility for students in need of special support from a social and psychosocial perspective, and actively participate and assist the school management in school development work. You will work from a solution-focused and evidence-based approach, both preventive and health-promoting. You will be part of the school's student health team and have a particular responsibility for students in need of special support from a social and psychosocial perspective. Furthermore, you will work to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational levels, for students' health, learning, development, and working environment. Your role also includes working towards an equitable learning environment that provides our students with the conditions to achieve knowledge goals and personal development in an optimal way. The position is in grades F - 6 and you will be part of Glasbruksskolan's student health team consisting of school management, school nurse, psychologist, speech therapist, and special education teacher.

In your role, you will also, in addition to what has been mentioned above, among other things:

Contribute knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situations, learning, development, etc.
Drive health-promoting and preventive measures as protective factors.
Conduct school social assessments and social evaluations as needed.
Collaborate and cooperate with students, guardians, school staff, and, if necessary, external actors regarding interventions for students.
Cooperate with authorities and organizations in preventive work related to the school or Malmö City.
Offer guidance, consultation, and advice to school staff from a social perspective - Assist in investigations of harassment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and at least two years of experience in social work focused on children and youth. We prefer candidates with experience as a school counselor. You have a good understanding of the school's governing documents, the Social Services Act, and other relevant laws, as well as knowledge of other administrations and, for example, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP). It is advantageous if you have experience in supervision, MI, and possess advanced norm-critical competence and tools to support the organization in active work against discrimination, in accordance with the tightened requirements of the Discrimination Act 2017.

You have a genuine interest in children and find it easy to create and maintain good relationships. You are self-driven, proactive, flexible, and solution-focused in your work approach, and have the ability to handle stressful situations.
