Skolfam Helsingborg is growing, and we are now starting a third team! Therefore, we are looking for a psychologist who wants to make a difference for children placed in foster care.

About the Workplace

As a psychologist in Skolfam, you are organized under Student Health and are part of our group of about 25 psychologists, but your placement is in the Social Administration. Each team consists of a psychologist and a special educator who work closely with social workers in the foster care unit.

Job Responsibilities

Skolfam is a preventive work model aimed at strengthening school results for children in foster care. The foundation of the Skolfam model is based on preventive work, cross-professional collaboration, children's participation, and measurability. The model is manual-driven and scientifically evaluated. The Allmänna Barnhuset Foundation is the national coordinator for Skolfam. After each school year, all municipalities connected to Skolfam conduct an internal quality and results evaluation. Evaluations conducted in Helsingborg show consistently positive results. The manual-driven work is presented here in four steps:

1. Mapping: The Skolfam team conducts an individual mapping of the child's conditions for school results.
2. Planning: The plan describes interventions to close knowledge gaps, provide optimal challenges in schoolwork, and ensure the child reaches as far as possible according to their conditions.
3. Follow-up: Throughout the process, the child's school development is continuously monitored.
4. Evaluation: After two to four years, the mapping is repeated. The goal is always for the child to be eligible to apply for a national high school program.

Each team has about 24 children associated with it. The children are primarily placed in municipalities near Helsingborg, but there are instances where children are placed in municipalities outside Helsingborg. The work thus involves some travel.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with knowledge of educational psychology and developmental psychology. You should be well-versed in assessing children and using the results as a basis for positive change work. You must have a good ability to interpret, summarize, and communicate the results of an investigation, both in writing and verbally. Skolfam emphasizes the individual's opportunities for development, both in terms of interaction and learning, and your approach should focus on seeking and communicating strengths and support needs of the child.

Experience and knowledge in providing supervision is meritorious, as is an interest in working with group processes. Experience working in a school environment or collaboration between different actors and familiarity with holding collaborative meetings is also meritorious.
