Licensed Physician Wanted at Academic Specialist Center

The Academic Specialist Center is a relatively new facility within Region Stockholm for patients with diabetes, rheumatic diseases, MS, Parkinson's disease, and obesity.

Within the unit, research, education, development, and innovation are integrated into daily care operations. Our mission includes developing new working methods, innovative use of medical technology and e-health solutions, high patient involvement, and collaboration with various healthcare providers and patient associations. We are located in beautiful premises at Torsplan.

The Diabetes Center is a specialist clinic/outpatient service that works with patients who have diabetes, primarily type 1 diabetes but also provides consultative support for patients with type 2, pregnant women, and other types of diabetes. We are looking for someone who is innovative and wants to develop care, research, education, and innovation together with us and patients with chronic illnesses.

We are now seeking a licensed physician for a temporary position, aiming to pursue a residency in endocrinology.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who is driven and wants to develop care for patients with diabetes through research work, in networks together with the patient. You will work with both clinical activities and research projects. You thrive in both independent work and teamwork and are a well-liked team player.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, at least level 3. You have an interest in diabetes and organizational development. Experience in academic research, innovation work, and teaching is an advantage.

Employment Type

Temporary full-time position until April 2026, with start as soon as possible by agreement.

Working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday.

Additional Information

Collaboration with acute hospitals occurs to provide side training placements in emergency care, inpatient care, and outpatient care that are not conducted within the Academic Specialist Center.

Interviews may take place continuously during the application period.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be reserved for internal relocation, according to applicable regulations.

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County healthcare area:

  • background checks will be applied before hiring decisions according to current guidelines.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
