Do you want to be part of a world-leading company in defense and aerospace technology that develops tomorrow's solutions? Our major client in Linköping is now looking for a junior cutting engineer to contribute to the development of future flight systems.

In our client's production, thousands of drillings are performed daily, primarily manually. Therefore, we are looking for a committed and interested engineer in cutting technology, who wants to strengthen the competence in cutting processes and tools.

As a cutting engineer at our client, you will be a key person in the development of our production methods. Your tasks include quality assurance, cost optimization, and failure analysis of cutting processes in production. The assignments include manual, semi-automatic, and automatic processes, focusing on drilling in various material combinations.

More about the role

• Quality assure, optimize costs, and analyze failures in cutting processes for manual, semi-automatic, and automatic processes, with a particular focus on drilling in various material combinations
• Define cutting tools based on specifications
• Participate in and carry out qualification of cutting tools.
• Ensure that the selected cutting tools meet both product requirements and quality and performance requirements
• Act as a cutting technology competence support for workshops, production technology, and purchasing
• Evaluate and implement new tool concepts and methods
• Conduct market analyses and stay updated on the latest technological advancements in the field.

In this role, you will collaborate with both production and purchasing departments as well as the client’s suppliers to implement new technology and support existing production sections. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining standards and operational documents. Since this is a junior role, you will receive close mentorship and a comprehensive introduction to develop in your job role.

Requirements for the position

• At least one year of work experience from the industry with experience in cutting technology and/or production technology.
• Good Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
• Swedish citizenship

Meritorious

• A relevant post-secondary education in, for example, mechanical engineering
• Experience in manual drilling

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to applicable security protection regulations. For certain positions, this may also involve requirements for specific citizenship.
