Mechanical Design Engineer for R&D Combustor Mechanical Design Team

We are looking for a mechanical design engineer to join our R&D Combustor Mechanical Design team! In this role, you will participate in development projects and support workshops, procurement, and service. You will tackle challenges such as high temperatures and cyclic loads, as well as optimize aerodynamics for various fuels, including natural gas, diesel, and hydrogen.

An important challenge in combustion engine development is managing high temperatures and cyclic loads from engine starts and stops, along with temperature fluctuations during combustion. Your designs must meet lifespan requirements while optimizing aerodynamics for traditional fuels such as natural gas and diesel, as well as hydrogen and other carbon-free alternatives, ensuring stability and low emissions.

Your Responsibilities

• Participate in development projects related to burners and fuel manifolds
• Present your design in design reviews
• Support service, procurement, and manufacturing
• Assist order engineering with technical inquiries

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with a master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, along with at least 5 years of work experience in design. You must be fluent in English.

Experience with gas turbines, NX Teamcenter, or PLM2020 is a plus. We also appreciate an interest in driving small projects, such as issue reporting, and experience working closely with manufacturing. Familiarity with additive manufacturing, CE marking, ATEX certification, and PED is also valuable.

The position is based in Finspång and requires at least 3 days a week in the office.
