Structural Engineer at Saab Aeronautics

We believe that progress and opportunities are best created together. Welcome to a place where collaboration makes a difference.

Your Role

We are now looking for experienced structural engineers in the field of structural integrity within Aeronautics, focusing primarily on special mission aircraft. In this role, you will work through the entire process, from concept development to optimization of design solutions and certification reports to authorities. The work includes, among other things, FE modeling and sizing (static, fatigue, and damage tolerance). We use a wide range of methods, from handbook methods to advanced optimization with FEM, and part of the job involves assessing which methods to use.

As part of the team, you will contribute to delivering designs that meet the requirements and loads that GlobalEye and other products are subjected to. There are also opportunities to delve into airworthiness and service issues, where you will work on product improvements and aftermarket efforts to support aircraft in operational service.

You will be part of a team that focuses on development from a broad perspective, where we collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines such as design, loads, weight & balance, and production/modification.

Your Profile

We are looking for a structural engineer who has a strong interest in developing within the computational field. You enjoy working analytically and are willing to dive into details to find the best solutions, while also having the ability to maintain focus on delivery and not get stuck in details.

In this role, you will have some contact with external parties such as suppliers and partners. You have a good ability to create and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally and are a valued colleague. You also have a strong sense of responsibility and take initiative when needed to drive projects forward.

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • A university degree in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of structural analysis and design issues
  • Previous experience in the field of structural integrity
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is advantageous if you have experience with:

  • Hypermesh
  • Nastran
  • MathCad
  • Catia V5

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
