JOB DESCRIPTION
Mullsjö is looking for a special teacher/special educator with a heart for students in need of special support, who do not always have the conditions to succeed in a regular school setting. Would you like to be part of the startup of a municipal special education group, targeting students on the autism spectrum aged 10-15 years? Initially, it will be a small group of 4-6 students, with a maximum of 8 students.
You will work based on a clear workflow with certain established routines. The operation is being built up, so you are expected to continuously evaluate and develop it. It is important for us that you are part of a context where you have exchanges with others, which you will have through regular contact with the EHT staff at the students' home schools, as well as those at the central administration. Additionally, you will have a colleague to work full-time with. Mullsjö's strength is good collaboration with other actors in the municipality, where social services become a natural partner to work with, so that together you can see the whole picture around the student.
The idea is that a placement should always be evaluated with the purpose of eventually returning to class.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a special teacher or special educator, preferably with qualifications to teach in some of the grades 4-9. It is an advantage if you have as broad subject qualifications as possible.
It is meritorious if you have experience working in a special education group previously and can demonstrate good results from that work. You need to be solution-focused and never give up, always trying to find a way forward for the students to succeed. In your personality, you are secure and good at building bridges, trust, and good relationships with students and guardians.
The work involves your ability to structure, write action plans, reassess, evaluate, and adapt with the help of support structures aimed at providing students with good conditions. You believe in the student and expect the student to achieve established goals. The assignment requires a good view of the student with the perspective that it is primarily situations that cause difficulties, not the student.
