IF Metall is now looking for a local coordinator for the department in Borås. You will be responsible for a team of 16 people and have financial responsibility for the department. Here you will work with engaged colleagues in a role where you will have many varied contacts and close collaboration with the department board. The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement. We look forward to your application!

About the position:

You will lead, coordinate, plan, and quality-develop the work within all parts of the department. The work is based on congress, representative assembly, and department board decisions. The role includes personnel responsibility for administrative staff and union representatives as well as staff employed by IF Metall's unemployment insurance fund. You report to the department chair. As a local coordinator, you are the extended arm of the department board and your main tasks are to:

• Lead and plan the department's work.
• Have delegated responsibility for work environment at the organizational and individual level
• Be responsible for competence development and recruitment
• Be responsible for the department's budget, operational planning, and follow-up
• Be the elected treasurer and sit on the department board as well as in the executive committee
• Be responsible for training, meetings, and conferences
• Be responsible for property, management, and finance
• Other tasks related to the operations such as membership recruitment, organization, and negotiation

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with experience in personnel responsibility and knowledge in labor law. You also need to have experience working with operational planning, finance, and budgeting. Understanding how to operate in a non-profit and trust-based organization is important, and if you have experience from the trade union movement, it is an advantage. You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus. You have good experience using IT tools to support your work.

To succeed in this role, you must have the ability to create good relationships, a structured working method, and be results-oriented. You are communicative, can adapt to changes, and maintain calm even in pressured situations. To thrive in the role, you should be interested in strategic issues and enjoy problem-solving. Since travel is part of the job, a driver's license (B) is required. We are looking for someone who shares the values of the labor movement and has a genuine interest in union issues.
