Fyrbodal Municipal Association is one of four regional municipal associations in Västra Götaland. We are a collaborative organization for 14 municipalities with a total of 270,000 inhabitants. Together we become stronger and can meet the future in a better way. We work for a sustainable society with a focus on growth and development issues in areas such as infrastructure & public transport, business, climate and environment, culture, skills supply, education, social services, and health care.

FoU-Social Services Fyrbodal has existed since 2009 and encompasses social services and municipal health care.

We are now looking for an education coordinator for the regional implementation of vocational journeys. The vocational journey is a national concept for introduction and skills development aimed at ensuring quality in every meeting between social services employees and residents. The goal of the vocational journey is for municipalities to gain additional knowledge, power, and competence to develop social services by offering the best available knowledge in a consolidated and pedagogical manner. The education coordinator will be employed at Fyrbodal Municipal Association, in the department for welfare development and FoU Social Services. Here, there are colleagues working with various development and coordination assignments within social services and municipal health care. The immediate supervisor is the head of the Welfare Development department. You will have close contact with representatives from member municipalities to collaboratively create cooperation, plan for, and carry out educational initiatives within the vocational journey.

Job Responsibilities

The education coordinator's mission is to be the hub in the regional implementation of the vocational journey, with a special focus on vocational journeys for providers in elderly care and care for the disabled. The mission is to support the municipalities' knowledge development work and, in close collaboration with municipal representatives, enable the vocational journey to be carried out in accordance with the municipalities' needs and conditions.

Specifically, this may involve:

  • being responsible for planning and implementing regional educational and informational initiatives, both individually and together with representatives from the municipal operations.
  • developing structure and layout for the implementation of each vocational journey based on the conditions of the operational areas and the concept of the vocational journey.
  • participating in national networks and monitoring regional issues within the concept.
  • participating in county collaboration with education coordinators from other municipal associations.
  • recruiting and supporting local educators.
  • administering documentation for invoicing based on participation in course sessions.
  • administering and otherwise supporting the implementation of educational initiatives within the vocational journey.

The education coordinator's mission may vary over time, depending on conditions and which issues the municipalities prioritize. Anchoring takes place with the management network in the Fyrbodal Municipal Association's management and collaboration occurs with other colleagues within the Fyrbodal Municipal Association and other municipal associations in Västra Götaland.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant academic degree, preferably in social care, social work, educational pedagogy, or similar.
  • Experience in coordinating tasks within social services, for example in elderly care or care for the disabled.
  • Experience in training and planning educational initiatives.
  • Good knowledge of the municipalities' conditions and challenges within elderly care and care for the disabled.
  • Experience working within the conditions characteristic of a publicly and politically governed operation.
  • Pedagogical ability and approach.
  • Good IT skills.

Personal qualities that are important for the position

You should have the ability to work independently and in a structured manner to drive and implement development work and design a structure for the vocational journey within the Fyrbodal area. As a person, you need to have good collaboration skills, as well as appreciate working independently. You should feel comfortable communicating and speaking in front of both small and large groups. You need to have a good ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing and be able to compile and present complex information in an accessible way.

Employment Type

Project employment for 12 months, with good opportunities for extension as the government investment is announced to be three years. An agreement for service purchase from one of our member municipalities may be relevant. The position will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made.
