Your responsibilities

As a special education teacher, you are responsible for the special educational work and the work concerning students in need of special support. In your work, you are expected to contribute to discovering and mapping the student’s support needs and ensuring that the methods used are research-based and evaluable to the greatest extent possible. Your task is to ensure good quality in investigative mapping and current support, as well as the establishment of action programs around this. You will collaborate with classroom teachers regarding individual students' needs for adjustments.

As a special education teacher, you have an important role in supporting the work with students who are at risk of not reaching the nationally set goals. You work on this both through classroom teaching and individual instruction.

With this position, we want to strengthen the support for our students with more competence in mathematics.

Ekängen Schools consist of two schools, Bärstad School with students in grades F-1 and Ekäng School with students in grades 2-6. At our two schools, there are studio workshops for special education and learning environments in a smaller context. We have a total of 5 after-school departments where we have age-homogeneous groups in all departments except for grades 4-6.

Ekängen Schools are located about 6 km from the city center in a lovely environment. Roxen with its beach is within walking distance from the schools, and we have the forest right at our doorstep. Our schoolyards invite play and movement; we have a large activity park and a full-size artificial grass pitch. We also have nice and functional premises. There are good bus connections, and it takes about 15 minutes by bus from Linköping's travel center.

In our staff group, we work, based on clear goals, to continuously develop ourselves and our operations. Everyone is important in the team building at Ekängen Schools. We always try to start from inclusive learning environments and low-affect responses. Something that characterizes our schools is safe students and staff with high well-being.

You who are applying

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license and a special education teacher degree with a focus on mathematics, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have previous work experience in the pedagogical work that the teaching assignment entails.

You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you, according to the curriculum, can organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development.

You have a positive attitude and bring enthusiasm and energy to your work. You have a good ability to create participation in the activities and can create and maintain relationships in the workplace. You have good insight into how people absorb knowledge and can adapt your way of conveying messages to others. You communicate clearly. You are secure in yourself and see relationships in their proper perspective. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and drive your processes forward.
