The Culture School in Norrköping is a creative and pleasant workplace with a wide range of courses in art, dance, theater, film, and music for children and young people in their free time. We have a well-developed ensemble, orchestra, and choir activities and annually offer a large number of concerts and performances. We collaborate with primary schools, youth centers, and other actors to reach many children and young people.

We are now looking for a piano teacher for a full-time position with us.

Your tasks

As a piano teacher at the Culture School, you will work to inspire and guide children and young people aged 6 - 25 in their artistic development. You will teach piano both individually and in groups.

You will plan and conduct lessons and create a creative and stimulating learning environment. You will collaborate with other educators and staff to develop and implement teaching that engages and challenges our students.

You will see and use group belonging and interaction as central tools in teaching and are curious about developing new teaching methods and approaches.

Teaching is mainly scheduled for afternoons and evenings. Weekend work may also occur.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is creative and inspiring with the ability to motivate and develop individuals, both individually and in groups.

You have a teaching degree from a music academy or equivalent education that the employer deems equivalent and have experience in pedagogical work with children and young people. We would prefer if you have experience in group piano teaching.

The teaching includes many music genres. For this position, it is an advantage if you have good sight-reading skills and master classical piano repertoire. To complement the group's competencies in the best way, the position has some specialization towards classical repertoire, but teaching includes all genres.

You have good pedagogical skills where you adapt your communication according to the person in front of you. Since we work with people, we also see that you can flexibly adapt to changing circumstances during the workday.

Furthermore, we see that you are responsive in your approach, developing positive relationships with both students and colleagues.

In collaboration with others, you contribute with a positive attitude and actively share knowledge and information with the team to achieve common goals.

The position requires that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
