Your tasks

We are now looking for substitute teachers for Himnaskolan. As a substitute, you may work as a childcare worker, teacher, or resource in the classroom, as well as in our after-school care when regular staff are absent.

As a short-term substitute, you will primarily work during the school terms. We have limited job opportunities during all holidays, including the summer. You will enter your available working hours in your digital calendar, and you will be booked according to the needs of the organization. Your digital calendar is available via an app on your phone or on the web. As a short-term substitute, you need to be prepared for shifts that may come at short notice.

Your workplace

Himnaskolan is centrally located in Linghem and has about 530 students in grades F-6. The school is close to nature and only a 5-minute train ride from Linköping. The school employs 70 staff members, including support functions such as school nurse, counselor, psychologist, special education coordinator, focus librarian, administrator, and janitor.

The staff is organized into five teams where the school's personnel collaborate with the staff in after-school care for the benefit of the students. We have qualified and competent staff who continuously work to develop the organization with a strong focus on collegial learning.

We actively work to create accessible learning environments to give all students the best conditions to succeed in school. Our goal and vision are to create a school characterized by safety, learning, and respect.

Our organization is open Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 18:00.

Who you are

To work as a substitute with us, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma. We are primarily looking for individuals with relevant education as childcare workers or teachers, such as ongoing or completed studies in childcare, after-school care, or teaching. It is an advantage if you have worked in preschool, school, and/or after-school care or have experience in other work with children/youth. Experience and personal suitability are important.

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary so that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and carry out work to support the child's language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

In your role as a substitute, you should be a good role model. You have the ability to collaborate with the contacts that occur in your professional role, adapted to the situation. In the role of a substitute, it is also important that you as a person take initiative and responsibility in activities and tasks in our organization. Since you are booked according to the needs of the organization, it means that one day is rarely like another, and you therefore need to be flexible. You easily adapt to new organizations/work environments and group constellations.
