What We Do and Want

Tyresö School with Treatment is a municipal learning studio aimed at providing students with extensive needs for special support a functioning school experience combined with treatment and change work for the students and their families.

The treatment is initiated by the social services and in collaboration with students and guardians. Through research-based teaching and treatment, as well as common approaches, we work to rebuild the trust in the school context that has often been lost for the students and guardians placed with us. We have supervision from social workers and psychologists, as well as common meeting forums that support the integrated school and treatment activities.

Our age group is grades 4 to 9. The students with us may have neuropsychiatric disabilities, problematic school absenteeism, psychosocial issues, or trauma related to the school context. The relational work here is crucial and something we invest significant effort into. We have a positive view of the students and their families. With us work family therapists, teachers with special education competence, student assistants, and treatment pedagogues. The work team collaborates across professions, is passionate about the work, and enjoys working together!

Our premises are adjacent to Tyresö School, which it legally belongs to. This allows us to utilize the schoolyard, have PREST subjects, modern languages, etc. The operation offers collegial exchange and support.

About Tyresö School

Tyresö School is a K-9 school in eastern Tyresö, with the forest at its doorstep and within walking distance to beautiful castle surroundings and a bay. The schoolyard is large and invites varied play and activities. The school is characterized by good academic results, high satisfaction, and study peace. We know that there is nothing more inclusive than good teaching, and our common goal, where we all contribute in our different roles, is to create the best school for each individual student. We work together in grade teams with a strong EHT supporting teachers and students.

About the Position

We are now expanding our treatment team! Do you want to be part of creating a meaningful everyday life for students and families in need of special support?

We are looking for one more family therapist for our team. As one of our family therapists, you will work closely with students and the team based on the assignment from social services. Together with our other family therapist, you will be responsible for the treatment work surrounding the student and the student's guardians. This may involve social skills training in student groups, writing treatment plans, school attendance plans, and reports to social services. You will have therapeutic conversations, supervise the staff group, and collaborate closely with the municipality's social services and other actors around the family. The relational work is of utmost importance, so part of your work will be out in the field with the students.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or psychologist with therapeutic further education focused on family work. CBT levels 1 and 2 are advantageous. Experience in treatment work is a requirement, and experience in school with treatment and investigative work with children and youth is advantageous. You should have good knowledge of children and adolescents with NPF and in need of special support.

You should easily create close and good relationships and be interested in working in a team. You can receive and support people from different backgrounds, conditions, and challenges. You see the student's entire life situation and work based on current research as a natural part of your work. You have a warm heart for the students and are passionate about supporting and challenging the student group. You should be able to express yourself well in writing and have experience in documentation. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
