We are looking for a Support Educator for the Social Administration

Permanent position. Employment rate: 95%.

Start date according to agreement.

Unit Description

We are looking for a support educator for a group home according to LSS located in Huddinge C. The residence is for 6 users with various disabilities such as mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and other neuropsychiatric disabilities. Psychiatric comorbidity and challenging behavior occur. We work with the individual at the center and are careful to ensure the quality of the interventions we provide so that users can live as independently and well as possible.

About the Work

The unit has an experienced workgroup that has the user's needs at the center. The unit has clear quality goals and is characterized by joy at work. Here, housing support staff/support assistants and team leaders work. The role requires you to be able to support and guide your colleagues in the pedagogical work. You should be able to introduce, explain, and clarify pedagogical methods. Being able to collaborate with all employees at the workplace is important; everyone contributes to the unit's good results.

We offer our users individually tailored support. You need to understand how the individual implementation plans and method sheets are helpful in daily work. The work is planned, documented, and closely monitored. For you as a support educator, it should be a given to shape the support based on the user's own will and needs and to work for increased influence for users in the operation. It is important that you understand the value of a helping professional relationship based on respect for the individual's self-determination and integrity. You are expected to be a positive force and have your own experience and ideas regarding work in a group home, as well as being able to listen to ideas from the workgroup. The unit needs to continue to develop in line with digital advancements.

The position is full-time.

You are scheduled at the unit, and the position involves work during the day, evenings, and every other weekend. As support in your work, you will regularly meet with the method developer for the disability area along with other support educators.

Your Profile

For the right person, we offer an exciting assignment to continue developing the operation into a high-quality service together with users and colleagues. We are looking for a positive and engaged support educator with relevant education for the target group. You should have at least 60 higher education credits or 200 vocational higher education credits in a relevant educational field for the unit, such as support educator or specialist nursing assistant in neuropsychiatry/mental health or similar. We are particularly looking for someone with knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities.

You have current knowledge of the target group in group homes and knowledge of low-arousal approaches, IBIC, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). You have experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behavior. It is particularly important that you have the ability to support staff in preventing situations where challenging behavior occurs. We see clarifying pedagogy as a means to increase the user's security. Therefore, we request good knowledge of, for example, social stories, series conversations, mapping, and cognitive aids.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You master Swedish well in both speech and writing and have good computer skills.

Upon employment, we will request an extract from the police criminal record.
