About the Position

Your role as a support assistant is to assist individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support and services, ensuring each individual has an active and stimulating daily life.

The goal is for the individual to be as independent and involved as possible based on their abilities and circumstances. You will act as one of the most important people in our clients' lives and always tailor your approach to their individual needs.

We hire according to BoDa - services that involve close collaboration between group homes and daily activities, allowing employees to work across both areas to provide continuity. The position is therefore based at Group Home Krokis and, to some extent, daily activities as needed.

As a support assistant at Group Home Krokis, you will provide personalized support and services to individuals with disabilities to ensure their quality of life in accordance with the Act on Support and Service (LSS).

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Planning, reflecting, implementing, documenting, and following up on clients' support, care, and nursing based on assistance decisions and implementation plans.
• Collaborating with the individual’s representatives, caseworkers, and other support functions/services.
• Performing tasks according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL) based on delegation from nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

About You

For this position, you need:

• High school education: care and nursing program with a specialization in disabilities or nursing assistant education with a focus on the disability area.
• Experience working with the target group under LSS.
• Good knowledge of social documentation.
• Good command of Swedish - both spoken and written.
• Knowledge and experience of AAC.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Experience working with a low-arousal approach to prevent threats and violence.
• Knowledge of the functional perspective.
• Knowledge of IBIC.

To succeed in your role as a support assistant, it is important that you are attentive and can communicate effectively while contributing to a positive work environment. You need to be proactive with a good ability to coordinate and prioritize. Furthermore, you possess personal security and maturity and have a desire to develop within the organization.

Group Home Krokis caters to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, where the need for support is significant. The facility has six apartments, and staff are available almost around the clock (sleeping on-call at night).
