The Children and Youth Unit has grown in recent years in line with the municipality.

As a group manager, you will be part of the unit's management team consisting of the unit manager and two other group managers who together lead the unit. The unit is divided into six smaller groups with social workers: a reception group, two investigation groups for ages 0-18, a group focusing on youth at risk of crime, a placement handling group, and a foster care secretary group.
About the role:
We are now looking for two group managers: a temporary group manager for the investigation groups and a group manager for reception and youth at risk. In this role as a temporary group manager for the investigation group, you will lead two groups of investigators who receive cases, investigate, and also handle the implementation and follow-up of interventions, as well as our child protection team.
As a group manager, you are the immediate supervisor for social workers and group leader in your groups. The group manager works closely with group leaders who guide the caseworkers in their daily work. In the role of group manager, you will have personnel and work environment responsibilities. The unit manager has budget responsibility, but you contribute to working purposefully towards a balanced budget. An important part of the role involves introducing new employees, supporting the group and the group leader who manages daily issues, and being responsible for the work environment.
Your tasks will include:
- Personnel and work environment responsibility.
- Contribute to working towards a balanced budget.
- Maintain the good working routines and processes that exist within the unit.
- Drive processes towards goal fulfillment according to the committee's established goals.
- Keep the operations updated regarding legislation and current guidelines in the area, especially regarding the transition to the new Social Services Act.
- Ensure that case handling is conducted with high legal security and that the operations are performed with good quality in meeting the target group.
- Plan and implement development work in the groups.
- Have a strong child rights perspective in the work.
- Work with development and methods.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work.
- Several years of experience in authority exercise within the child and youth area.
- Current experience as a manager/leader within social services, where you have been in a supervisory role.
- Training and experience in BBIC and Signs of Safety.
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Additionally, it is meritorious if you have:
- Good knowledge of the target group and Upplands-Bro municipality's work for children and youth.
- Experience in driving systematic work environment efforts.
- If you have previously collaborated or been involved in developing new forms of collaboration with good results.
We believe you will fit the position if you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while focusing on maintaining methods and exploring new ways of working. You find it easy to collaborate, and you are skilled at communicating both verbally and in writing. You need to be meticulous and structured and have good digital competence. Furthermore, you are a person who is confident in yourself and can maintain a holistic perspective and stand firm even when the going gets tough.

Who are we at the Children and Youth Unit?
At the Children and Youth Unit, we are over 40 people. It is a social, cheerful, and energetic workgroup with a high degree of cohesion and well-being. The unit also currently has a child protection team.

The workplace is centrally located in Kungsängen, a two-minute walk from commuter trains, buses, parking, and general services. We have flexible working hours and the option to exchange vacation pay for five extra vacation days annually. In addition, we work 38.75 hours per week. We also offer the possibility to work from home.

About the position:
We are looking for two group managers. This position is a temporary position for one year from June 2025 to June 2026.
