We are now looking for a brilliant and driven colleague who can work with men's violence!

Agera Kvinnojour is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 and is a member of the national organization Unizon. We work for a society free from violence. Currently, the women's shelter has 14 employees and about 35 volunteers associated with the organization. We are members of the national organization Unizon. Here, women and children are the focus, and we work based on respect for the equal value of all people. Our sheltered accommodation has space for 10 women with accompanying children. We also offer support conversations to those seeking help through our counseling service.

We are now looking for another social worker with solid experience in working with violence in close relationships, particularly focused on women. Experience working with children who have been exposed to violence is also an advantage. We have good cohesion, lots of laughter, and colleagues who help each other. This position is a temporary position until the end of the year but may be extended.

We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves, has good planning and initiative skills, and has their own drive to get things done. You are attentive and can easily adapt to different people and situations. You can prioritize your work, be flexible, and handle many tasks at once. You take personal responsibility for your work tasks. You have good collaboration skills and the ability to work independently.

Job Responsibilities

At Agera Kvinnojour, we have a strong focus on women and children. As a social worker, you provide counseling support to women and assist with practical support such as confidentiality marking, other applications, and contacts with authorities. Working at a women's shelter involves providing support on multiple levels and stepping in where needed. Practical tasks may occur, but your regular job responsibilities will mainly include:

  • Receiving admissions to the sheltered accommodation and being responsible for case management, including documentation.
  • Conducting structured threat and risk assessments.
  • Conducting ongoing written safety plans for your clients.
  • Contacting and participating in meetings with social services, police, prosecutors, and other authorities.
  • Providing crisis support to children and women in the sheltered accommodation.
  • Providing counseling and advice to women, their children, and other individuals seeking support.
  • Providing practical support to accommodation staff.
  • Contributing to organizational development and method development based on the organization's goals and purpose.
  • Performing regular office tasks.
  • Being responsible for following up on your area of responsibility and your work tasks.
  • Contributing to a good living environment for those exposed to violence.
  • Contributing to a good working environment for you and your colleagues.

This position is temporary until the end of the year but may be extended. Evening shifts may occur. The workplace has on-call availability for those in accommodation. The accommodation is staffed from 8 AM to 8 PM every day. Weekends are staffed by special weekend personnel. Evenings are staffed according to a schedule by weekly staff. This allows for a sleep-in on the day you work the evening shift :)

Qualifications

  • A social work degree or equivalent education is required for the position.
  • Experience working with violence in close relationships.
  • You should have experience with counseling adults.
  • You should have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • You should have very good computer skills and documentation experience.

Meritorious

  • Experience working at a women's shelter, social services, or other social activities.
  • Documented experience in counseling and trauma knowledge.
  • Language skills beyond Swedish.
  • Experience working with children, trauma training.
