The unit for receiving children and youth consists of a reception group with six people, two SIG coordinators, and a unit manager, and there is also a business developer available in the area. The unit has a positive and helpful atmosphere, we care for and support each other in everyday life. We help each other handle difficult assessments and value our different experiences in the group. In addition, it is a group that enjoys having fun and there is a lot of laughter.

The workplace is centrally located in premises in Farsta center near the subway, close to restaurants, gyms, and a wide range of shops. With the subway or commuter train, you can get here in about 20 minutes from central Stockholm.

Supervision - You will participate in external supervision together with your group. You will also receive support and supervision from your manager and peer mentor.

Your role

Social Intervention Groups (SIG) are a working method for collaboration between social services, police, schools, and other actors to help young people stop committing crimes. In the role of SIG coordinator, you will work with the target group of young people aged 12-20 who commit crimes, are at risk of developing or have developed a criminal lifestyle, are in criminal environments and/or are at risk of being involved or are already involved in violent extremism. You will work based on the fundamental principles of Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR).

The role of SIG coordinator means that you, on behalf of social workers, help the young person with a lifestyle change to leave crime and stop a negative development. You have a central role in motivating the youth and guardians to break confidentiality to coordinate interventions with other important supportive actors around the young person. You will provide practical and social support by accompanying them to meetings. The work involves coordinating contacts with authorities and other community actors and supporting the creation and maintenance of contacts with necessary partners. You work towards clear goals with the individual, and the implementation plan becomes an important tool for creating participation and motivation.

As a SIG coordinator, you will be part of a well-functioning collaboration with the police. The district area is part of Stockholm City's structured collaboration between social services, police, and probation services called TREFAS. Within the Farsta district administration, we work based on a cohesive social service where working methods and routines that support this are a given.

To succeed as a SIG coordinator, you need to have a strong interest in developing working methods and be able to work both independently and in a team. You will work closely with the adult unit's SIG coordinators, and the assignment also includes developing routines and effective working methods.

Your qualifications and experience

Degree in social work and previous experience in authority work with youth. Knowledge of motivational interviewing (MI). Basic knowledge of criminological theory and criminogenic factors, and previous experience working in the administration is meritorious. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge of SAVRY and Need and Responsivity (RNR).

You work both independently and systematically by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well. As a person, you need to have personal maturity and good empathetic ability. You have good analytical skills and express yourself well both verbally and in writing. You are relationship-building and have a very good ability to collaborate with other actors around the youth. You want to contribute to developing our working methods and have an understanding of the assignment to work in a politically governed organization. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. A driver's license is required as the position involves travel.

To work with children, youth, the elderly, and people with disabilities, including working in their homes, you must show a criminal record extract. The extract must not be older than six months from the date of issue.
