The position of development engineer is located in the community planning unit, which is part of the community building sector.

The sector works, in addition to community planning, with issues related to food and meals, transport, cleaning, construction and environment, property management, and emergency services.

In the community planning unit, there are 12 employees where the development engineer works closely with 2 additional colleagues within the land and development function, as well as other employees within the unit such as planners, traffic strategists, nature conservation coordinators, GIS engineers, and traffic engineers.

Your future tasks

As a development engineer, you will work and be responsible for driving the municipality's development projects from the planning phase to the implementation phase. Part of your work will also involve the management and development of the municipality's land reserve. The work is based on legal, economic, and technical perspectives within both development projects and land management.

You will work together with colleagues in the municipality's operations as well as authorities, developers, contractors, consultants, and others. Your tasks include steering projects towards set goals and timelines. You will prepare documentation for political decisions and participate in the development of investigations, economic analyses, and implementation planning.

The position of development engineer means that you will represent the municipality of Finspång as a landowner and work with strategic access to land where negotiation and relationship-building are important parts.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a university degree in surveying or as an engineer/project manager with a focus on community building or other competencies and experiences that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Has negotiation experience and documented experience working with implementation issues within physical planning.
• We see that you preferably have experience working in a politically governed organization. You are outgoing with a strong focus on service and are skilled at communicating both positive and negative messages in speech and writing.
• Have the ability to quickly restructure and prioritize your tasks according to common goals when circumstances change.
• Are positive, calm, and enjoy working both independently and in a team.
• Have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
• Are flexible and care about achieving good overall solutions.
• Hold a valid driver's license (B).
