Do you want to work with software development and design adaptations of control systems and automation solutions for container cranes at a world-leading global company? We are looking for a recent graduate who is passionate about programming and innovative solutions!

Responsibilities
As a junior software designer at ABB, your main responsibilities will be to work on various delivery projects focusing on the adaptation of control systems and automation solutions for container cranes. The adaptations made in the software are done through close collaboration with hardware engineers and depend on where and how the crane will be used. The goal is to create reliable, efficient, and safe adaptations of the crane system, which requires a creative, solution-oriented mindset as you will be responsible for about 50% of the design code in the final solution.

The profession requires a genuine interest in engineering and a general enthusiasm for technology, programming, and innovative solutions. The department is unpretentious and questions are warmly welcomed – “better to ask one question too many than one too few.” The position involves collaboration with both colleagues and customers around the world, which means we are looking for another team player to join the team. If you also have a practical interest in hardware and how things work mechanically, that’s a plus.

Qualifications
- You have at least a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, robotics, or electrical engineering
- You speak and write English fluently
- You have a good understanding and knowledge of PLC programming

Preferred
- You have knowledge of other programming languages, e.g., C, C++, Java, or Python
- You speak and understand a European or non-European language, e.g., Chinese, German, or another
- Previous experience in PLC programming
