Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 27,800 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential areas close to the sea, and good communication opportunities. The municipality has a well-developed cultural and association life as well as good conditions for outdoor activities and recreation. Wholeness, openness, participation, and transparency are the municipality's guiding principles.

The municipality's vision is to reach 35,000 inhabitants by 2035. Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region's municipal association, which is a forum for cooperation and exchange of experiences, as well as several other inter-municipal collaborations.

We are organized in an administration with four sectors. The support functions sector includes, among other things, municipality-wide specialists, finance, personnel, communication, administration and digitization, property, and service. The mission of the support functions is to coordinate overarching processes and facilitate the municipality's sectors to focus on their operations.

The assignment as a communicator is organized within the Communication Team, which is part of the Communication and Coordination Function with 15 employees. The Communication Team consists of a Communication Manager, communicators, and a web manager.

The Communication and Coordination Function is responsible, in addition to communication work, for the municipality's safety and crime prevention work, public health, and overarching climate and environmental issues. Here, there is specialist competence that contributes to a sustainable community.

Job Responsibilities

As a communicator, you will work with communication issues in the municipality. You will have the opportunity to work variably and broadly within the entire communication area, and you will work operationally as well as strategically. You will provide support to managers, operations, and employees in planning and packaging communication efforts and serve as a sounding board and advisor on communication matters. These may target both internally within the organization and externally to residents, businesses, and the public. Your tasks include helping the administration's operations drive and develop their communication to create understanding, transparency, and participation in the municipality's work. You will perform layout work and create content for the intranet, website, and social media.

Qualifications

You have a university degree in media and communication studies or journalism or equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. We prefer that you have experience in operational and strategic communication work. We want you to be a person who takes initiative, is driven, and knows what it means to work as a communicator in a politically governed organization. You are an excellent writer with the ability to quickly describe complex issues in an easily understandable way, have a good sense of language, and we will be curious to see this. You have experience in web publishing and good proficiency in the Adobe suite (mainly Premiere, Rush, InDesign, and Express). As a person, you are innovative, curious, meticulous, and willing to try new things. You have the ability to work independently while easily building good relationships. You are collaborative and are happy to share your knowledge and experiences with your colleagues. You thrive in a central role in a whole where you contribute with drive and engagement.
