Economist to the Western Military Region

The Western Military Region (MR V) is seeking an economist for placement at the regional staff's finance department, J8. The department is responsible for coordinating the unit's financial management, budgeting, reporting, internal control, and financial administration.

Main Responsibilities

Under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer, you will be part of the staff's finance section where you will work broadly within the financial area. In addition to supporting the operations with ongoing reporting, budgeting, and preparation of financial decision-making materials, you will also work with invoice management, investment handling, internal control, and training in the Armed Forces' financial systems. The main focus of the work is on budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, and invoice management. Other financial and administrative tasks may be added.

Qualifications

  • University or college education in finance or other post-secondary education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Current and relevant experience in the above-described tasks
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Driving license B

The work requires presence before and at established reporting deadlines, which sometimes coincide with other staff's leave periods. A prerequisite for managing the tasks well is that you deliver results with good precision even under time-pressured conditions, are structured and attentive, and have high integrity.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

  • Familiarity with the Armed Forces and its organization
  • Experience with the Armed Forces' system support PRIO/SAP BO
  • Knowledge of the Armed Forces' financial management model
  • Work experience from a government agency or public sector in finance

Other

Employment form: Permanent, a six-month probationary period applies.
Employment rate: Full-time.
Work location: Skövde, travel may occur.
Start date: By agreement. Personnel in the Armed Forces have the opportunity for physical training during working hours up to three hours/week.
