Payroll Specialist at Stena Line

Are you a meticulous and responsible person who enjoys working in a dynamic environment? We are looking for a curious and systems-oriented payroll specialist who wants to be part of our team and support both managers and employees at sea!

As a payroll specialist at Stena Line, you will work independently with the payroll process but will also be an important part of our team. You are responsible for ensuring that payroll processes are handled correctly and in accordance with laws, agreements, and internal guidelines. Additionally, you will act as an employer representative towards authorities and keep yourself updated on changes in collective agreements and legislation.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Management of monthly payroll runs and payments
  • Payroll adjustments and handling of sick leave
  • Contact with authorities such as the Social Insurance Agency, Enforcement Authority, AFA
  • Annual reporting and year-end reconciliation
  • Monthly reconciliation of payroll-related accounts
  • Contact with managers and employees regarding payroll-related questions
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements and legal requirements
  • Handling questions related to time reporting and expenses
  • Stay updated on changes occurring centrally and locally in our collective agreements
  • Stay updated on applicable legislation and upcoming changes

Your must-haves:

  • Post-secondary education or degree in payroll administration, HR, or equivalent work experience
  • Solid experience in independently managing the entire payroll process - from start to finish
  • Experience with payroll management systems and integrations with time reporting, expenses, and HR systems
  • Good knowledge and experience of labor law as well as the ability to interpret and understand various collective agreements. Experience with collective agreements in shipping is an advantage.
  • Good analytical skills and a holistic view of payroll administration
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Experience with CrewSF is an advantage
