IVO is looking for inspectors who make a difference in healthcare and social services

Do you want to be one of us and work to prevent and combat welfare crime and the presence of unscrupulous and criminal actors? Together with engaged and qualified colleagues, you will contribute to our important work. We are now looking for several inspectors to be placed at one of IVO's offices in Umeå, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Örebro, Jönköping, or Malmö.

As an inspector at IVO, you will play a central role in the work to combat welfare crime. Your assignment will involve investigating operations and conducting inspections together with knowledgeable colleagues. You will have a varied and educational job that includes review, analysis, assessment, and compilation of data. Your tasks will also include responding to referrals, correspondence, and participating in various project groups. The position is both challenging and significant, where you will contribute to creating a safer and more secure healthcare and social service for all. The work involves many internal and external contacts, with all of IVO's departments and collaborating authorities. IVO is an organization in development, and over time, your area of work may change as IVO receives new assignments, priorities, and instructions.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in law, economics, or equivalent knowledge or experience acquired in another way that the employer deems relevant.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
  • Experience in analyzing and structuring large amounts of information.
  • High digital maturity and good knowledge of the Office suite.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in investigative work that the employer deems relevant.
  • Experience in working to prevent welfare crime.
  • Experience in conducting inspections.
  • Experience in reviewing accounts and conducting financial investigations.

You have a genuine interest in making healthcare and social services safer. In the role of inspector, you need to be able to work systematically, prioritize, and make independent decisions under time pressure. You are a secure person with high integrity and good self-awareness. You have a good ability to absorb new knowledge and tasks and remain calm even in stressful situations. Your ethical compass is strong, and you act in accordance with routines and regulations. The work requires you to be attentive, open to receiving and sharing new information, and clear in your communication, both internally and externally. You enjoy educating others. The role requires good collaboration skills where you contribute to an open work climate.

We have high demands on employees' security and confidentiality awareness. You may undergo a security review to be placed in a security class.

The mission of the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is to contribute to safe healthcare and social services with good quality and in accordance with laws and other regulations through supervision and licensing.

The authority is characterized by great commitment as well as broad and deep knowledge and understanding of healthcare and social services in Sweden. IVO is driven by the vision that we are in control, that we create learning, and that we make healthcare and social services safer and better. We exist for the benefit of healthcare and social service users.

The authority has about 800 employees. The supervision work is conducted at six regional departments across the country. The departments for licensing, analysis, planning, and communication, as well as operational support, are located in Stockholm, as is the director general's staff.
